About Us

Who Are We?

The Photo Boots Guys is a collaborative community project. It aims to figuratively answer the expression: walk a mile in their shoes.

Over the years, it has grown from a small project of three friends and one camera, to a project spanning four states, multiple photographers and volunteer shoes !

The Origin of The Photo Boots Guys

The Photo Boots Guys was a project that began where all great projects do: in the middle of a bar, with a couple of friends, who all happened to admire a stranger’s boots. They asked the fella if they could snap a quick picture of the boots, and bought their new friend a drink as a thank you. From there, they spent the next two hours listening to the exciting stories the man had lived through.

Unbeknownst to this stranger, his boots would be the catalyst for a long running community project. That one conversation and resulting picture would spark the idea for a new project: The Photo Boots Guys project.

What Is Our Aim?

Our aim is to celebrate people from all walks of life, and to encourage connection. Boots can tell you a lot about a person, but not everything. That is why every photo is accompanied by an interview outlining their life story. It aims to change how quick we are to judge people based on their appearance, whilst visually telling a story of humanity.
